Indescribable
This past Tuesday we had another appointment. This time we met Dr. Alvarez. This is the first time we’ve actually met the Dr. Every other time we’ve been there it has been a mid-wife that we have met with.
Well, if you saw my entry “Looking for a Heartbeat” you would know that at the last appointment that is what we were doing. But we never got to hear it. So this time we thought we might have the oppurtunity.
We weren’t in the room very long when Dr. Alvarez came in. Like I said until this point we had been dealing with the mid-wife and nurses (all women). When Dr. Alvarez walked in he introduced himself, shook our hands, and got right to business. Just not quite as sentimental as the women have been. He asked Jodi to lay down and before we knew what was going on he had whipped out some sort of device out of his coat pocket, placed it on my wife’s abdomen, and the next thing we knew we heard this fast paced little “thump, thump”. It was little dubs hearbeat. We had finally found it. Don Johnson would be so proud!
I don’t know if you have seen it or not, but there is an awesome video out there by a Christian speaker Louie Giglio (I posted the segment from this video below, I suggest watching the whole thing) called Indescibable. It is about how huge and vast God is. He explains this by showing some awesome constellations and different galaxies out in space. In one point in the video he shows the Vela Pulsar way out in space, Louie proceeds to tell us that NASA pointed a radio telescope at it and they picked up this rhythmic beat from it. He says that all of creation was glorifying God and it didn’t want to miss out.
That is the exact feeling I got from hearing my child’s heartbeat, that it was glorifying God.

Hunsader Pumpkin festival
We finally made it out to Hundsader Farms for the Pumpkin festival and we were impressed. We have wanted to get out there the past for years but for one reason or another didn’t make it.
Our biggest disappointment was that we ate lunch before we went and found tons of delicious looking fair type food that we were too full to eat. Andy was especially sad to miss out on a turkey leg opportunity. Other than that, there were many things to see.
Some of our favorite things: PVC guns (PVC pipe wrapped with colored elctrical tape $4), the Corn Maze, Pumpkin Launcher (it shot pumpkins 300 yards), and of course the occasional mullet.
We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to take the baby there next year. As you can see from the picture above we went with Kevin and Jenn Kaminski. We took a picture in the pumpkin patch. We each had a large round object to hold!

Things I've learned so far about being pregnant…
1. Like Santa Clause, your belly shakes like a bowl full of jelly
2. The best part of the day is a tie between taking off your pants and peeing
3. Your skin is being pulled in 10 different directions
4. Coco Butter lotion is your new best friend
5. Everyone wants to tell you their birthing story
6. Your stomach is now public property and anyone can touch it
7. Being out of breath doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve done anything active
8. Sharp knife like pains in your abdomen is just “ligament stretching”
9. The word “uterus” kinda freaks people out
10. The birth plan in the words of a kindergartner, “Mrs. Wells, you are going to get fatter, and fatter, and fatter, and then yell “Ohhhhhh, get this baby out of me, and then it will come out.”
not so photogenic
So this is the photo from our second ultra-sound. You know, “Looking for a Heartbeat”. Anyway, I said I would put it up so hear it is.
This picture really doesn’t do him justice. Like I said he was break-dancing, but you could see him alot better. It was just hard to get a good picture because he was moving so much. He is laying upside down the big area at the bottom is his head, and if you look at the other end of him you can see his leg is kinda bent. Thanks for all your prayers, please keep them coming.
