But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. – Joshua 24:15

Music to my ears

Cora is a sponge, and I love teaching her new things about the world around her, but mostly I love teaching about God’s love letter to his creation. Almost daily we have been going over some bible stories and talking about the lessons God is teaching through them. I’m constantly reminded of Deuteronomy 6:7-9 “Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates.” So far her favorite stories have been the good Samaritan and Adam and Eve the best.
Sometimes I wonder how much of these lessons are sinking in and then I have a moment of reassurance. This afternoon as I was in the midst of my mid-day pick-up and cooking dinner I heard Cora “reading” one of her bibles to Jack. Then she kneels down and starts to pray. She mumbles, “ummm uh so memahhhh…I love you JESUS!! In the midst of our busyness I really needed to know that I’m doing something right, thanks for that moment Father!
